GUESS WHAT’S IN THE MAIL TO EVERYONE?! I’m packing up the final batch of Ensign Two: The Wrath of Sue pre-orders tonight. Thank you so much for your kind support, guys. It means the world to me and Kevin. ♥ If you missed the pre-order …period and would still like a copy, we can help! We will have the Ensign Two books at all of our convention appearances in 2013.  We’ll also continue to sell copies on online. Pssst, Canada-based fans! Clare Moseley, our co-author, is located north of the US border and can sell you the books at a lower shipping cost. Check out her store!
Again, thank you guys! (And yes, that’s one of our cats in the background. Kitty!)

Was having a conversation with Artist Alley folks about how each of our table displays have evolved over the years and what materials we used.  Dug out some old photos of the Interrobang table and since they were kinda neat, I thought I’d share!

  • 2009.  Big Apple Comic Con.  We used 2 black, foam core science-fair displays and I cut the back and taped the opening so that they made a pair of 1’ square towers.  We used plastic, slide in, document holders mounted on double-sided tape.  The top banner is also foam core and set in notches cut into the tops of the towers.
  • 2009.  Wizard World Philadelphia. We had a half-table, so we used one tower and mounted the foam core down on the table.  (Boo hiss! Sign too low! Everyone’s butts blocked it as they browsed.) This was one of the last cons where we used a price-list.  Folks have proven much more receptive to price tags on the product (even little post-it notes) rather than a single, master price list.
  • 2010.  SPX.  Mini arch of PVC pipes and clamps.  We picked up some small, clear, plastic fixtures from a closing Borders to hold our books in tiered stacks.  We made custom signs for each of our books with some small flavor text.  We salvaged the plastic sleeves from the first incarnation and added industrial velcro to the backs of them to keep them on the poles.
  • 2013.  MegaCon.  Taller!  It grows!  Wider!  It expands! We have more books with more signs!
  • 2012.  Baltimore Comic Con.  Not really in the right date sequence, but this is a show where we buy 2 tables, so you get to see the Voltron-Super-Convertible coolness of our newest display.  We add a middle clamp, some more PVC, and a T-join.  Now we can talk to folks out of TWO windows!  We also added a magnet board to display our mini-print art cards.  :D

Hope I didn’t bore you!  Do any of y’all have photos of your displays over the years?  I enabled photo reply.  Lemme see! :D

Team Interrobang is getting ready for our Birthday Party at T-MODE this weekend.  It’s on Saturday and starts at 12:30pm.
In other news, blindfold technologies testing sessions have yielded positive results.  Neither the blind kitten nor the lovely assistant were able to pin the tail on any of the studio jackasses while under the influence of “goggles.”

Oh ho ho, my lovelies… Guess what’s available for pre-order.  Order now and receive your copy of Ensign Two: The Wrath of Sue by the end of April.**
Yes, the comic will continue to post online for free once every Friday well into July 2013.  Or, you could know how it ends before the 1st of May.  ;)
** Canadian fans can save on postage by ordering from our lovely Canadian co-creator, writer Clare Moseley.
FYI- Since I know you worry about things like this because you care about us… both buying the book and reading the comic online for free supports our creators: ad revenue from repeated visits or the funds from a one-time purchase of the comic are equally important and enthusiastically appreciated!
The best support of all is when you tell a friend! Thank you so much for your readership! — Sarah, Kevin, & Clare

Signal Boost!

Kevin goes to pick up the books tomorrow!  Taking ‘em to Anime St. Louis this weekend.  Pick up a book and say HAAAEEEEYYY if you’re in the Illinois or Missouri region.  Or, if you’re not blessed with proximity to the Gateway Arch, pre-order the book online and it’ll ship by end of April! :D

Stereo pair of the Ensign Sue 2 promo poster! Because it does work on comics other than Homestuck. (And I do read comics other than Homestuck.)
To view in 3D, if you have binocular vision: stare at the image, letting your vision go double, until the two images start to overlap and then snap into place with each other; you should see three copies of the image, with the center one in 3-D. It’s the same basic principle as Magic Eye but the results are different.
It takes some practice if you aren’t used to it. Here’s some advice if you’re having trouble: 1. Make the image smaller. This only works with images below a certain size relative to your eyes; either zoom out, or move farther away from the screen. The smaller the image appears to you, the easier to make it go 3D. 2. If you’re wearing glasses, take them off. (If you aren’t wearing your glasses, put them on.) 3. Make sure your eyeline is parallel to the horizontal plane of the screen. 4. Focus on a distinct part of the scene (like a black object) and try to move them toward each other. 5. Thinking too hard is bad; if you still can’t make them line up, come back later when you’re more tired/drunk/otherwise slightly mentally impaired/already getting double vision, and try again.

Reblog because… Well, I’m a massive egotist.

Aw, cool! This actually worked for me. :D
